This large, sporty and technical canyon is located at the foot of the Ariège "3000" peaks: the "Montcalm" (3077m) and the Pique d'Estat (3143m), at the bottom of the Vicdessos valley. It is a very steep canyon, more vertical and wilder than its neighbor, the Artigue. Less aquatic and more technical... and what an atmosphere! Ideal for perfecting your canyoning and abseiling techniques.

Description

Subra Canyon

The Subra Canyon offers a beautiful series of 25 waterfalls. Mineral and open in its upper part, the gorge is carved into a beautiful red schist rock. This canyon ends with 2 magnificent, very steep and aerial sections (last 8 waterfalls). The most beautiful and highest obstacles are found at the end of the course, including a 25m guided rappel followed by a superb 20m waterfall that descends into a cave behind the curtain of water. It is very little frequented, you will have a peaceful place to learn canyoning in a team and perfect your autonomy on a rope.

A sporty canyon descent for all those who love thrills, learning technique and autonomy in canyoning.

Equipment to provide

Swimsuit (avoid shorts) and change of clothes. Picnic lunch + water
Optional: Shorts for the approach hike (if needed), Glasses strap, Hair tie (for long hair)
