Become an autonomous canyoneer and explore all the canyons of the world.

This 10-day program consists of 2 days of pre-training (online "E-learning" courses) and 8 days of practice (indoors, on cliffs, rivers, and canyons). It can be broken down into 4 separate educational modules + 1 day of individualized "Clinic."

Each of these modules can be taken separately for those who simply want to refresh their current knowledge or improve their skills.

The entire set of modules can be taken as a complete training program for those who want to become fully autonomous in canyoning in all countries.

Included in the price: Welcome, instruction, online courses, collective and individual equipment (including descender, ascending gear, professional canyoning shoes, and all collective equipment), and the option to download the topo guide of the Ariège canyons.

Autonomous Canyoneer Training – Become Autonomous in Canyon

Within a small group of 6 trainees maximum, we train you in autonomy in canyoning, whether you are in the initiation or improvement phase. During a week, theory and practice complement each other. You will train in the most beautiful canyons of Ariège to develop concrete and lasting skills.

Who is this training for?

This training is for anyone who wants to:

> become a autonomous canyoneer,

> learn to move in a group of initiated practitioners,

> progress in canyons with limited commitment,

> master preparation, progression, obstacle rigging, and self-rescue.

This is a recreational training, not professional. It can also suit those who wish to refresh or supplement their skills thanks to a modular and accessible format.

Learn from home, at your own pace, the essential basics:

> hydrology, weather, geology, organization, and safety in canyons.

A solid theoretical foundation to effectively prepare for the next steps.

           Practical modules in the field

> Rope descent, stopping, and ascending in various commonly encountered configurations

> Jumps, natural slides, and horizontal movements

> Analysis and rigging of vertical obstacles

Approach Walk

Able to run 500 meters / climb 300 meters of elevation gain with a backpack.

Material provided

2-piece neoprene wetsuits (5 mm), lycra/neoprene T-shirt (2 mm), anti-slip canyon shoes (sizes 35 to 48) + neoprene socks (5 mm), helmet, canyon harness with double lanyards and canyon descender on "auto-lock" carabiner, complete rope ascending gear, rigging carabiners, dry bags…

Pedagogical material provided

E-Learning, references and PowerPoint presentations, Autonomous Canyoneer Manual (500 pages), indoor practice equipment

Equipment to be provided

Swimsuit. Warm clothing if needed and sneakers for cliff day. If necessary: glasses strap, long hair tied back. Lunch (picnic), energy bars, water. Vehicle for traveling to practice sites.
